Darren has over 27 years’ experience delivering IT solutions within financial services and was previously responsible for all money transmission systems at Lloyds TSB, and a key contributor in the evolution of UK Faster Payments solution. 

Darren has provided strategic advice on several of the UK’s largest mergers and demergers, defining target end-state architectures and migration strategies. 

With a background in development and architecture, Ben now oversees Icon’s finance and operations teams. 

Since Icon’s Inception, his mission has been to bring together the highest calibre team to enable Icon to help financial services organisations meet their objectives. 

Tom is responsible for strategic engagements across leading global financial institutions in the UK and internationally. 

Tom’s early recognition of the substantial change and disruption to the payments industry, created a unique opportunity for Icon to provide strategic guidance and technology solutions to enable the transformation of payments estates. 

Alastair has more than 20 years’ experience across banking payments and data. He has held a range of senior technology and business roles including CIO of International Banking at RBS and CEO at Lombard Risk Management. 

Alastair joined Icon’s board of directors in January 2021. 

During his over 30-year career, James has primarily focused on technology, working for Barclays and Citi, and living in London, Tokyo, Singapore, and New York. James joined Citi in 2013 and held numerous roles within Technology supporting the Treasury Trade Solutions (TTS) franchise.

In 2022 James joined the Payments Business and is now leading Business & Strategic Execution, Investment and Portfolio Management and the product development for the ISO 20022 and Core Modernization programs.

Michele is a strategy and investment professional with over a decade of experience across financial services, technology and consulting. 

At UBS, he co-founded the bank’s strategic investment unit, where he led high-impact investments and partnerships with innovative fintech and B2B technology firms. 

His background includes global roles spanning Europe and Asia, including as a strategy consultant in Bain & Company. 

Michele brings a strong track record of helping technology businesses navigate and partner with leading financial institutions.

Liam is responsible for Icon’s sales growth across both services and product. He has over 12 years experience and proven reputation for leading large tier 1 financial services accounts in retail banking, capital markets and wealth management and overseeing operations of large, diverse delivery teams. 

Liam has been instrumental in Icon’s GTM strategy, proposition development and pipeline and customer engagement. 

Dave is responsible for all Icon’s customer delivery across both services and product. He works closely with clients and resources to ensure that customers get the best possible value out of our skills and experience.  

Dave has more than 30 years’ experience in IT and banking. A large part of his career was spent at Lloyds Bank where he was responsible for delivering internet banking and support of all the banks accounting systems.

Donal is responsible for the technical direction of the work we do in both Services and IPF, though IPF will be the greater focus initially. 

Donal has joined Icon from Kantar, a data, insights and consulting company. He brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience in technology and banking roles, having previously served as CTO at Modulr and BlueCrest Capital Management LLP, and as Head of Emerging Markets Technology for EMEA at JP Morgan. 

Hannah heads up Icon’s People team, bringing over 20 years of experience across industries like strategic communications and IT services. 

Hannah is all about finding great people, helping them grow, and creating a culture where everyone feels supported and valued. Because our people are what make Icon successful, she’s focused on making sure we have the right tools and resources to help everyone succeed. 

Toine is an innovative payment strategist and architect with over 20 years’ experience in the payments industry. 

Toine has a wealth of expertise and knowledge in the payments and cash management domain, from working at global banks, consultancies and payment fintech providers including J.P. Morgan, IBM, Clear2Pay and Capgemini. 

Simon is a pragmatic IT strategist and architect leader with over 20 vears’ experience in consultancy and financial services. He is responsible for leading Icon’s services business, working with clients to simplify banking transformation. 

Simon has led technology strategies and architecture transformation delivery for multiple large banks including Lloyds Banking Group, NatWest, HSBC. Barclays, UniCredit and Nationwide Building Society. 

Adam joined Icon from the very start because he wanted to be part of something new and exciting. He is now the Head of Payments Architecture. Over the years, he has worked as a consultant on payments architecture and consultancy projects for global financial institutions, including the delivery of Icon's Payment Technology Strategy. 

Adam has deep technical expertise in the design and delivery of architecture, from solution to enterprise architecture, especially architecture for the payments domain, often in transformation projects. He is also a key author of the Icon Payments Blueprint, our reference architecture for payments processing. 

Cindy heads up Icon’s marketing function, a role she’s held since 2022. She has 20 years of experience in global strategic B2B marketing positions at both privately-owned and listed fintech and SaaS companies. 

Her team is dedicated to delivering value to our ever-growing client community, be it by launching new events such as our Annual Payments Conferences or by enhancing how our clients and prospects access information about IPF and our Services online. Cindy has overseen the repositioning and rebranding of Icon in 2025 and developed market-leading client advocacy with NatWest and Citi.

Sirin is Icon's Head of IPF Solution Architecture. She joined Icon in 2016 following a career in solution architecture at large corporates. At Icon, Sirin has since worked with some of the most prestigious clients in the payments and banking domain. 

Her expertise in designing innovative, resilient and scalable payments systems is contributing to Icon’s position as the market leader in our field. Sirin works closely with Icon clients, leading and supporting them in designing and building fault-tolerant, high-volume, low-latency payments platforms using IPF. In addition, she also contributes to the key IPF product feature designs and scheme pack solutions. 

Ian is a Principal Architect for Icon Solutions, working as part of the management team in their Services consultancy. Ian joined Icon in 2016 having previously worked with them on several client engagements. Working in close collaboration with clients, Ian enjoys solving complex challenges and building trusted relationships with stakeholders.  

Having many years experience across different architecture disciplines, Ian understands the need to be pragmatic, helping clients determine priorities and trade-offs to make informed decisions that achieve successful outcomes. 

Dan heads up Icon’s finance function, leading a team of accounting professionals. He joined Icon in 2016, having worked as a financial controller at very organisations and also on the revenue modelling side for a large UK newspaper group. 

Dan is responsible for statutory and internal financial reporting to the Senior Management Team and the Board. This includes planning, budgeting and forecasting as well as working capital management. His dedication to continuous improvement drives financial efficiency and supports strategic decision-making within Icon. 

Having worked for the big banks for over 30 years, Jen decided in 2018 that it was time for a change. Icon had caught her eye because of our company values and the way people work together. 

Jen joined Icon as a Senior Business Analyst, responsible for defining requirements for new IPF features for our clients. She was promoted to Head of Product Delivery (IPF) in March 2023 and now owns the IPF Product Roadmap and manages the delivery of our core IPF product.
