Leading Payments Forward: Explaining Icon's New Website

Since Icon started back in 2009, we have built hard-won experience that only comes from designing and delivering state-of-the-art, mission-critical payment solutions across the banking sector. And as it became clear to us that financial institutions needed a new approach to payments technology, we used this experience to create the Icon Payments Framework (IPF) in 2016.

We haven’t looked back since. IPF is now used by financial services organisations and public sector bodies in 20 countries across 4 continents, with some of our Tier 1 banking clients becoming investors in our company. Icon is also home to world-leading domain experts across payments, architecture, data and AI. 

To reflect this evolution, we recognised the need to undergo a transformation of our own. Our new website and branding reflects the fully-fledged global fintech we have become and how our solutions are helping our clients across the world to lead payments forward. 

Simplifying complexity in a fast-moving world

Icon was founded on the belief that payments innovation should be simpler. This is why our new website brings a refreshed look and enhanced functionality to make it easier for you to find what you need by:

  • Clearly explaining how we can support you at different stages of your payments journey, including with architecture, data and AI.
  • Showcasing our flagship technology solution, IPF, and the impact our clients are realising.
  • Demonstrating how the expertise of our people – as well as our commitment to purpose – underpins everything we do. 

A look behind the scenes

Another key aim was to ensure that we maximise the benefits for our clients, prospects, and partners and anticipate their needs – both now and in the future. 

To achieve this, we approached our own transformation in the same way we do for our clients by defining our vision and starting with ‘why’ a new website was needed, ‘what’ it needed to deliver, and ‘how’ to get there. 

Guided by this blueprint, we have:

  • Enhanced our content: Through feedback, data and insight, we evaluated and enhanced content across several areas so you can dive deeper into relevant topics.
  • Built for flexibility and scale: We’re using technology that allows us to build out the website in whatever way is required to meet and anticipate the needs of our audiences.
