Why did you choose Icon?

At various points in my career, I'd been in organisations where Icon was engaged in the same programme I was working on. It struck me that their approach was subtly different to other consultancies, truly putting the client first even if that wasn't necessarily in the best interests for themselves. They had an exceptional reputation within the client; being open and honest, taking ownership and going over and above to deliver. Icon's people are always in key areas supporting a client's initiatives, clearly placed in positions of trust.

What are the key achievements in your professional career?

Several years ago, I was brought in to help a global technology company extend their document composition product with real-time capabilities for an initiative with a tier-one bank to improve the client experience during account opening and reduce attrition rates. The web services delivered significant benefits for the bank and subsequently became part of the product portfolio. They have become a highly successful offering that has aided many banks, insurance and utility companies leverage real-time document composition across different platforms and channels.

What drives you in your work?

I enjoy the challenge of working with clients who face problems they're finding difficult to address. Being brought into an organisation that needs help, is a recognition of your experience and expertise as a professional.

I love working with other people and the sense of camaraderie that comes from being part of a team. There is nothing better than the sense of achievement that comes when you've overcome the odds and met your objective. I place a lot of importance in looking back retrospectively, reflecting on the highs and lows to take onboard any lessons learnt that may help with future assignments.
